HUXLEY ROOM
HUXLEY ROOM ... in the heart of the main house
The Huxley Room is conveniently located in the main house. It sits just off the foyer near the front door, living room, and dining area; entrance to the room pictured at right. The room looks out onto the rear terrace and garden.

The writer Aldous Huxley was one of Krishnamurti’s closest friends during the war years and beyond. He is famous for writing Brave New World, Antic Hay, Those Barren Leaves, and The Doors of Perception. Huxley actually stayed in the Huxley Room for several weeks at a time. Huxley urged Krishnamurti to write about his conversations with the many people who came to visit him in Ojai. The result was the Commentaries On Living series. Krishnamurti himself lived in this room for a while, although he preferred to live at Pine Cottage.
